How To Keep Your Baby Skin Healthy

Caring for baby's skin is one thing that should not be forgotten by the mother. This is caused by the baby’s skin still very young and sensitive that are vulnerable of the various diseases and various other disorders. Baby's skin is very smooth but vulnerable to changes in temperature, drought and infection. Because of the sweat glands is not fully developed, the baby's skin is very sensitive to cold and hot temperatures. Although sebaceous glands are formed in the skin, but they are not producing enough oil. As a result, babies are prone to dry skin. Baby's skin is also susceptible to infection because the system of protection to against microorganisms is not fully formed. Therefore, proper care of sensitive baby skin is very important in the first months of life. Here are tips that are highly recommended in baby skin care:

Bathing the baby. In a baby bath, bath water temperature needs to pay attention mainly to the newborn. Should the temperature not too hot or cold. Clean baby's skin from the dirt on the skin such as food waste, urine, and feces with water. Bath twice a day will also help clean the baby's skin. If the child's activities and movements or your baby is very active, bathing can be done 3 times a day. At the time of washing, note well the soap to be used. A good soap for baby's skin is a special soap for babies who are not too hard and has a pH between 4.5 - 5 and try a little greasy soap, this is to prevent irritation on baby's skin. Selection of Clothing and Baby Diapers. Choose clothing and diapers made from soft and thin cotton or mixtures thereof. Avoid nylon material that is generally easy to make baby hot and sweaty. This condition will easily invite germs or bacteria that is easy to bring up the rash and itching. If the baby can scratch, even the possibility of infection is greater.

Protect baby from the afternoon sun, if the baby should be dried to obtain additional vitamin D for bone growth, do it under at 09.00 am. Avoid direct exposure to the baby from the afternoon sun, the sun is directly susceptible to skin cancer. When you want to take the baby out of the house, use protective gear such as umbrellas or hats. Sun protection cream (sun block) may be used provided that the doctor be consulted first. Be careful not to the eyes, mouth, and little hands.
